Masculine Birthday Cards

Hello everyone!  I am back to share more cards with you that I created using the 4.5"x6.5" paper stack I bought from Hobby Lobby called Glasses, Staches & Ties.  These are part of the 41 that I made.  I used a total of 40 sheets of the paper and it came in a stack of 120, so there is still a lot left!
This is a close-up of the embossing on the background.  It is kind of a splash design.  I colored parts of the sentiment in with ultra fine sharpie markers.
This is the second version of the same card, different paper.  This one has a fishing theme.
I used a hexagon embossing folder on the background of these cards.
This one does not have any embossing, but I did pop up the sentiment panel.  The sentiment stamp is from My Craft Spot's Chalkboard Sentiment stamp set.  I made another card using that set if you want to see it HERE.
Here is a look at ALL 41 cards!  I kept them pretty simple since they shouldn't be overly embellished for OWH.  I really enjoyed challenging myself to make all of these!  I have posted individually on a couple of these designs so far.  If you want to see those posts click HERE.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Pot Of Gold

Hello everyone!  Over the last couple weeks there have been some changes at SVG Attic.  Most importantly, it has switched owners.  SVG Attic is now owned by Mike and Kenzie Daley who are the creators of SnapDragon Snippets.  They really have wonderful designs available in the Silhouette store, so head over there to check them out!

For this week's project I combined the Pot O' Gold file by SnapDragon Snippets with the Go Green set from SVG Attic to make this darling St. Patrick's Day decoration.
I sized the Pot O' Gold file so that the biggest piece was 11.5" to make it as large as I could.  Next I sized the shamrock border from the Go Green set to 0.5" tall.  I cut the base from green adhesive vinyl and the top layer out of gold glitter vinyl.  Using vinyl made the layering and adhering to the pot a breeze!  I used 3.5 lengths of the border to go all around the top.  I also saved some of the negative shamrock cuts out of the gold vinyl for embellishments for the bottom of the pot.
Around the middle of the pot, I wrapped jute ribbon first, then added embroidery floss in the colors of the rainbow for a pop of color.  The shamrock is from the Go Green set.  I added a twine bow and the stamped sentiment from My Craft Spot's tiny tags set to finish it off.
At the bottom I added another shamrock that I cut out, several green sequins, the gold vinyl shamrock cuts that I saved from the border and tiny dots of gold glitter.
Best of all, the pot also opens up so it can hold even more treats!
To find an assembly tutorial for the Pot O' Gold, you can go HERE.

UPDATE:  You can now find the Pot O' Gold (and many other cute files) on SVG Attic in the set called Charmingly Green!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Elegant Love Card

I made this card using the gorgeous Black Currant paper stack by DCWV.  It is one of my all time favorite stack!  I gave it to my husband for Valentine's Day, but it could easily be used for an anniversary card as well.
I used the doily die and the chalkboard sentiment stamp from My Craft Spot.  It was my first try at a chalkboard look on a card and I am very happy with how it turned out.
I added a bunch of rhinestones and some small roses to finish it off.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Father's Day Card Using Scraps

Recently I was inspired by a lady who was making a whole batch of masculine cards for Operation Write Home.  Over the last week I have slowly been making masculine cards for OWH out of a 4.5x6.5" paper stack I bought from Hobby Lobby called Glasses, Staches & Ties.  I currently have 41 almost finished and I think that is a good number to stop at for now.  This one was made using scraps of different patterned papers after making other cards.
I added four gold adhesive metal circles in the corners of the die cut around the sentiment.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Father's Day Card for OWH

Recently I was inspired by a lady who was making a whole batch of masculine cards for Operation Write Home.  I have a hard time making masculine cards, but I knew I really wanted to try my hand at that challenge.  So over the last week I have slowly been making masculine cards for OWH out of a 4.5x6.5" paper stack I bought from Hobby Lobby called Glasses, Staches & Ties.
I added a ribbon around the center and three gold adhesive metal circles in the center below the sentiment.  Normally I would have used pop dots under the sentiment layer, but OWH prefers cards to be as flat as possible, so I didn't do that for these cards.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Teacher Valentine Card

Hello all!  I know that Valnetine's day has come and gone, but I can't help but share this card.  I loved this file ever since SVGCuts released it, but this is my first time making it.  It is from the Back To The Books SVG kit.  Actually ALL of the items in that kit are amazing, you really need to get it if you don't already have it LOL!  Anyway, the paper I used is the Grade School stack by DCWV.  That is my all time favorite school paper.  My original stack was getting quite used up, so I had to buy another of the same one.  Okay, so I may have a paper problem, but what can I say?  I love that paper!
I added washi tape to the top tab, sequins and a round paper clip to the square around the heart and some embroidery floss to the scissors.  I also chalked around the edges of the die cuts.  The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.

Bee Valentine Card

This card is for my baby who is 18 months old now :)  The adorable cheeks on the bee made me think of him!  I used the My Valentine SVG files from SVG Attic to make it.  It has quite a non-traditional color scheme for a Valentine card since I used Authentique's Be(you)tiful collection, but I love it!
I inked all the edges with brown chalk, used glossy accents on the heats and tan sequins on the wings.  Finally I added a tiny twine bow to the sentiment.
It is hard to see in the pictures, but I used a hexagon embossing folder on the striped background paper to resemble honeycomb.  The bee and sentiment is all popped up using foam tape.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Toad Valentine Card

When I asked my 4 year-old what animal he wanted on his Valentine card, he chose the toad.  Truthfully, I expected that...it fits his carefree personality so well!  I used SVG Attic's My Valentine set to make this.  The paper I used is from Authentique's Lively collection.
I had a lot of fun with this card!  I embossed the green layer with a small circles embossing folder and then randomly went over some of those dots with glossy accents.  The cuts were all inked with brown chalk and I finished the card off with a twine bow and tan sequins at the bottom.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Penguin Valentine Card

This card is for my oldest son for Valentine's Day.  He really likes penguins so I knew this would be perfect for him.  The card is cut from SVG Attic's My Valentine set.  The papers that I used are from the Happy-go-lucky paper pad by Fancy Pants.
I added glossy accents to the beak and feet.  I used brown chalk around the outside of the die cuts and also made rosy cheeks with pink ink.  The twine and sequins were the finishing embellishments.
There also is foam tape behind the hearts and the sentiment to add dimension.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Door Hanger Valentine Treat Box

It is so fun when my boys takes an interest in making something with me in my craft room!  This is one of those projects.  My four-year-old wanted to make a treat box that he could claim as his own :)  He picked out the paper and some of the embellishments even.  The cutting files for this project are from SVG Attic's Heart Shaped Box collection.  He personally picked what box he wanted to make.
The paper is called Love Me Do by Imaginisce.  I added a square of acetate behind the heart window.  To embellish it, we chose some mesh ribbon, embroidery floss, a heart button and some pink gems.  The sentiment is a stamp from Paper Sweeties.  The edges were all inked with red chalk to add visual interest.

Love Mailbox

This vintage mailbox is for my son's Valentine cards for his class.  He had to make/decorate a box to hold all of the Valentine cards and treats he will get and he chose to make this one.  He has good taste LOL!  The files for this box are from the For My Valentine set from SVG Cuts.
He picked out the papers he wanted to use.  In his words, he really wanted to look like a Valentine!  I used black rumpled ribbon around the lid, a heart button and an embroidery floss bow.
For the LOVE, I used silver Glitzy Glitter paper from DCWV and it cut perfectly in my Cameo!
We went a little crazy embellishing the front with a bottlecap, gems, brads, hearts, etc.
And here it is all filled with the treats he is handing out at school!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Heart and Floral Valentine Card

I made this card after brainstorming what to do with the featured square of patterned paper.  It is fairly simple, but I really like the contrast of the black with the lighter colors.

The sentiment tag is from the Tiny Tags stamp set from My Craft Spot.  I added a bow of twine to the top of the tag.  The black satin ribbon wrapped around the front added texture.  For the finishing touch I places three pearls in the bottom left corner.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Valentine Treat Purse

I know this isn't a traditional Valentine treat holder, but I really had a lot of fun making it!  What girl or lady wouldn't LOVE to get this for a treat?  The paper collection I used was My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Record It! Antique.  It came with these gorgeous papers and a sheet of stickers.  The purse is made from SVG Attic's Pretty Purses files.
The swirl on the lid is one of the stickers that came with the paper collection.
Here is a picture of the purse opened up.  It has two pockets.  The main one and the small one on the front.
The main pocket has a cellophane bag with Hershey's Caramel Kisses and Hugs in it :)  YUM!  The front pocket is just the right size to hold a gift card.  I decorated the cellophane bag with Trendy Twine embroidery floss and a heart button.
Look at that magnolia on the front.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I am totally in love with this flower!  For the center I used my Epiphany Crafts Round 14 tool and some of the patterned paper to make an epoxy embellishment.  I added sequins to the front of the purse as well.
Last but not least, here is the back of the purse.  I used part of the swirl sticker on the back.  The tag is adorned with a banner and heart that are re-sized from the Sweet Shop Party collection.  I tied it to the handle with twine and embroider floss and finished the handle off with a bow of Rumpled Ribbon.
